Hermann Mirbt

Hermann Mirbt (born July 15, 1891 in Marburg , † October 13, 1968 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Mirbt was the son of the church historian Carl Mirbt and the older brother of Rudolf Mirbt and Carl Alexander Mirbt (1902–1975). In 1921 he completed his habilitation at the Georg-August University in Göttingen , where he became an associate professor for public law . In November 1933 he signed the professors' declaration of Adolf Hitler at German universities and colleges . In 1947 he moved to the University of Halle , fled to West Berlin in 1950 and worked from 1952 to 1958 as Senate Director at the Berlin Senator for Labor and Social Affairs. From 1953 he had a teaching position at the TU Berlin . His focus was German tax law .

Mirbt found his final resting place in the forest cemetery in Zehlendorf .

During his studies he became a member of the "Student Choir of Georgia Augusta" (today StMV Blue Singers ) and the AMV Fridericiana Marburg .
