Hermann Nagel (politician)

Hermann Nagel (born October 10, 1871 in Berlin , † October 18, 1945 in Bad Segeberg ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a Hamburg Chamber of Commerce secretary, Nagel studied law in Göttingen , Leipzig and Berlin after attending the Johanneum in Hamburg . During his studies he became a member of the Alemannia Göttingen fraternity in 1891 , and later in 1919 a member of the Germania fraternity in Hamburg . In 1895 he completed his studies with a legal traineeship and a doctorate as Dr. iur. and entered the administrative career as a councilor. In 1912 he was Councilor , 1921 upper government and director of the Hamburg Upper Insurance Office. He made a contribution to founding the University of Hamburg . From 1920 to 1933 he was a member of the Hamburg parliament . He belonged to the German National People's Party . In 1933 he was a member of the citizens' committee . He was director of the supply court. In 1935 he retired.
