Hermann Oeser (writer)

Hermann Oeser (born November 26, 1849 in Lindheim / Hessen , † February 3, 1912 in Karlsruhe ) was a German educator and writer .

Life

Hermann Oeser was the son of the Lutheran pastor Rudolf Oeser (1807-1859) who published as a popular writer under the pseudonym O. Glaubrecht .
Oeser was a Doctor of Philosophy and a Grand Ducal Councilor of Baden. It was in 1874 professor at the school in Worms and changed in 1879 as a professor at the teacher training college Princess Wilhelm pen in Karlsruhe. In 1881/82 he was the rector of the higher girls' school in Baden-Baden , but then returned to the Princess Wilhelm Foundation, where he was director until his death.

Oeser was married to Emmy Oeser (* 1872) and had a son named Gerhard. He was a member of the Karlsruhe Freemason Lodge Leopold zur Loyalty .

Oeser published numerous popular narratives and reflections, which are shaped by his evangelical piety and which were mainly distributed by Eugen Salzer-Verlag (sometimes in multiple new editions) after the First World War . He wrote for both the conservative New Christoterpe and the liberal Christian world .
