Röhl's translations are not only characterized by the high scientific standard (e.g. evident from manuscript research on the work "Die toten Seelen" by Gogol, which is partly available in several variants and overall incomplete), but also by extensive background knowledge, for example often old Russian (military) terms or objects that are no longer known today are described.
