from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hermann Robolsky (born March 10, 1822 in Neuhaldensleben ; † December 13, 1901 in Berlin ) was a German educator and publicist .

Life

Hermann Robolsky had a PhD in philology and worked as a senior teacher in the school service until he started working full-time as a publicist from around 1870 ( German-French War ).

During his school service Robolsky wrote some textbooks for teaching in German schools, including in English and French. Between 1862 and 1898 he wrote 53 books, including numerous contemporary and socially critical works about the German imperial family and Chancellor Otto von Bismarck , occasionally using the pseudonyms Heinrich Wiermann , Ernst von Redern and Hans von Schellbach . That is why historians see him somewhat disparagingly as a “prolific writer”. However, some of his works have also been published in other languages.
