Hermann Rockmann
Hermann Rockmann (born May 26, 1917 in Hanover , † August 16, 1997 in Hamburg ) was a German radio and television reporter.

From 1940 Hermann Rockmann completed an apprenticeship in the youth department of the Reichs-Rundfunk-Gesellschaft . In the late 1940s and 1950s he was a radio reporter for Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk ( NWDR ) and then for Norddeutscher Rundfunk ( NDR ). From 1953 Hermann Rockmann was chief reporter for NDR radio and head of the reporting department. From 1950 to 1963 he was voiceover speaker for the Neue Deutsche Wochenschau .
In the 1959 documentary film Serengeti Must Not Die by Bernhard Grzimek , Hermann Rockmann was one of the narrators ( voiceover ).
He was the first presenter of the program Greetings on Board . From 1964 until his retirement in 1982, Hermann Rockmann directed the legendary radio show Hamburger Hafenkonzert .
In 1964 Hermann Rockmann also presented the current showroom on regional television on NDR. In the same year and in 1965 he commented on the German broadcast of the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson ( Eurovision Song Contest ).
The greetings from the Willkomm-Höft ship's welcome system were spoken by him and can be heard there when ships pass by.
He was buried in the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg at grid square J 10 (south of Rosengarten ).
