Hermann Schlimme junior

Hermann Schlimme (born April 11, 1921 in Halle (Saale) ; † November 6, 1980 ) was an economic functionary in the GDR. He was General Director of VEB Kombinat Deutrans .

Life

The son of the union official Hermann Schlimme was bad . After attending elementary school and secondary school, he completed an apprenticeship as a freight forwarder and travel agent at the Gustav Knauer company in Berlin and then worked there. In 1940 he was drafted into the Reich Labor Service and in 1941 for military service in the Wehrmacht . In 1945 he was taken prisoner by the British in Italy .

In 1946 he returned to Germany in the Soviet Zone and became a member of the SED . From 1946 to 1949 he worked again as a travel agent. In 1949/50 he was social director, from 1950 to 1953 commercial director and board member of the Derutra company in Berlin . From 1952 to 1954 he worked as general director of the State Oderschiffahrtsgesellschaft. From 1954 to 1964 he was director or general director of Deutrans . From 1958 to 1961 he studied at the party college of the SED with a degree in social science and economics. From 1964 to 1967 he was head of the main administration for maritime transport and port management, then from 1967 to 1980 again general director of VEB Kombinat Deutrans. He represented the GDR in the international freight forwarding organization FIATA and was also vice president there at times.
