Hermann Schoppelrey
Hermann Schoppelrey SVD (born September 24, 1876 in Mönchengladbach ; † May 25, 1940 ) was a Roman Catholic bishop , Steyler missionary and Apostolic Vicar of Sinyangchow in China .
Life
Hermann Schoppelrey joined the Order of Steyler Missionaries (SVD) in 1889 at the age of 12 . He was ordained a priest on January 28, 1900. On December 13, 1933 he was appointed by Pope Pius XI. Appointed Vicar Apostolic of Sinyangchow and Titular Bishop of Calydon .
On January 6, 1934, Schoppelrey was ordained bishop by Archbishop Theodor Cardinal Innitzer of Vienna . Cocoon screechers were the Vienna Auxiliary Bishop Franz Kamprath and the Apostolic Vicar of Central New Guinea Josef Lörks SVD.
Schoppelrey died on May 25, 1940.
