Franz Kamprath

Franz Kamprath (born October 29, 1871 in Neutitschein , Moravia , † April 8, 1952 in Vienna ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop .

Franz Kamprath was ordained a priest in Vienna on July 25, 1894 . He received his doctorate theologiae and was among other things secret secretary and ceremonial to Cardinal Anton Josef Gruscha .

On February 15, 1929 he was appointed by Pope Pius XI. appointed Titular Bishop of Stadia and Auxiliary Bishop in the Archdiocese of Vienna . The episcopal ordination received his Friedrich Gustav Cardinal Piffl on March 31 of that year. After Piffl's death he was capitular vicar until Theodor Innitzer's appointment .

From 1939 Kamprath was vicar general and provost in the Archdiocese of Vienna. On May 18, 1944, Franz Kamprath was appointed by Pope Pius XII. appointed titular archbishop of Carpathus .

From 1930 he was an honorary member of the Catholic student association K.Ö.HV Franco Bavaria Vienna in the ÖCV .
