coat of arms
The heraldic right side of the bishop's coat of arms shows the paw cross from the coat of arms of the Archdiocese of Vienna and on the left the silver double tower from the coat of arms of the Turnovszky family. In the lower pointed golden field the self-chosen symbol of a tree with roots is shown. It symbolizes the wearer's love for nature and science (the former profession). The coat of arms is crowned by a miter with a processional cross , which continues under the coat of arms .
The tree also stands for closeness to God (treetop) and closeness to people (roots). As the tree lives from water, so man lives from God (motto). It is reminiscent of the tree of paradise and the tree of the cross and thus of redemption.
Under the coat of arms is his episcopal motto in German: My soul thirsts for you .
