With a length of 311 m, it is one of the largest cruise ships in the world. The ship belongs to the Voyager class, has four sister ships and sails under the flag of the Bahamas . Its maiden voyage began on December 14, 2002.

Construction and commissioning

The keel of the ship with hull number 1347 was laid on September 27, 2000 at the shipyard in Turku , Finland . On January 25, 2002, the construction dock was flooded and the expansion of the equipment quay continued. The ship was handed over to the owner Navigator of the Seas Inc Nassau , Bahamas (Management Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. ) on November 18, 2002 . The christening took place on December 6, 2002 in Miami with Steffi Graf as godmother.

commitment

After her maiden cruise, which began on December 14, 2002, the Navigator of the Seas was used by Royal Caribbean International on the Baltic Sea, among others. For a long time, the ship has been sailing in the Mediterranean in summer and in the Caribbean in winter.
