The midship section that has meanwhile been undocked
The ship was commissioned as the fourth unit of the Quantum class on June 12, 2015 from Meyer Werft with hull number S.700. The Spectrum of the Seas has a total of 18 decks and offers space for 4,246 passengers in 2,137 cabins.

The Spectrum of the Seas , like its sister ships , has an Air Lubrication System. This system reduces the friction between the surface of the water and the ship's hull by expelling air bubbles from the latter. The system should lead to lower fuel consumption.
