The Majesty of the Seas is a cruise ship operated by Royal Caribbean International . She belongs to the Sovereign class and flies the flag of the Bahamas .
history
The ship was laid on December 6, 1988 at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire . On March 27, 1992 the Majesty of the Seas was delivered and sailed under the flag of Norway with her home port Oslo . On April 26, 1992, the ship was christened in Miami .
Since January 2005 the ship has been sailing under the flag of the Bahamas with home port Nassau.
In January 2014, 69 people on board the ship contracted a gastrointestinal virus, including two crew members.
In November 2014 it was announced that the Majesty of the Seas would be used as Majesty for Pullmantur Cruises from 2016 , which also already has its sister ships Monarch and Sovereign . Before that, I stayed at the shipyard in May 2016. She should drive in South America. In July 2015, however, it was decided to continue using the ship at RCI due to the great demand. The change to Pullmantur was therefore initially postponed to 2017 and finally canceled entirely.

Trivia
- The Frenchman François Zanella made a model of the Majesty of the Seas on a scale of 1: 8 in eleven years of construction , which was completed in 2005. With a length of 33.50 meters and a width of 4.75 meters, it is considered to be the largest model cruise ship in the world.
- From January 24th to 28th, 2011, the music festival " 70000 Tons of Metal " took place for the first time on the Majesty of the Seas . The name was based on the measurement of the ship (approx. 70,000 GT). During the tour of the Western Caribbean ( Miami - Cozumel - Miami) were 40 metal - bands on, including Amon Amarth , Blind Guardian , Exodus and Dark Tranquility .
