The Mariner of the Seas is a cruise ship owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. , operated by Royal Caribbean International . With a length of 311.1 m, it is one of the largest cruise ships in the world. The ship belongs to the Voyager class and has 4 sister ships. Its construction cost 650 million US dollars . Its top speed is 44 km / h. It sails under the flag of the Bahamas . Its maiden voyage began on November 16, 2003. In 2011 and 2012 the ship was also sailing in European waters. From Civitavecchia (near Rome ) the Mariner of the Seas drove to ports in the western and eastern Mediterranean as well as destinations in the Middle East. In winter the ship sails in the Caribbean .

In 2013 she was deployed as the second Voyager- class ship in Southeast Asia, where she is mainly deployed from Shanghai and partly from Singapore . Before that, she will conduct transatlantic trips and a transit trip through the Suez Canal via Dubai .
