The Enchantment of the Seas is a Vision class cruise ship operated by Royal Caribbean International .

history

The ship was ordered on August 3, 1994 from the Finnish shipyard Kvaerner Masa Yards. The keel was laid on October 26, 1995 at the shipyard in Helsingfors . On November 21, 1996 the ship was undocked . On July 3rd it was delivered to the client. The ship had a length of 279.60 meters and was measured with 74,136 GT.

renewal

From May to June 2005, the Enchantment of the Seas was extended by around 22 meters to 301.36 meters by installing a middle section. The middle section was built at Aker Finyards in Åbo . It was installed at the Keppel Verolme shipyard in Rotterdam . Among other things, this created space for a pool with a suspension bridge, a specialty restaurant and the enlargement of the guest area. Since then, the ship has been measured at 82,910 GT.

Incident 2009

On September 30, 2009, the Carnival Legend was pressed against the Enchantment of the Seas in strong winds off Cozumel . There was only minor damage to property in the incident.
