Angela Yeung Wing ( Chinese  楊穎 , Pinyin Yáng Yǐng , Jyutping Joeng 4 Wing 6 ; born February 28, 1989 in Shanghai ), better known as  Angelababy , is a Chinese model , actress and singer who lives in Hong Kong . In 2013, she was selected as one of the new four- dan actresses (a group of four particularly notable actresses) by Southern Metropolis Daily . In 2016 she won a Hundred Flowers Award in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in the blockbuster Mojin: The Lost Legend .

life and career

Yeung Wing was born in Shanghai in 1989 as the daughter of a father of Chinese-German origin from Hong Kong and a mother from Shanghai. Her father runs a fashion company in Shanghai. Under the influence of her father, she became interested in fashion at an early age. Yeung moved to Hong Kong at the age of 13 and was hired as a model with Style International Management at the age of 14 . She created her stage name Angelababy from her English first name Angela and her primary school nickname "Baby". She speaks Mandarin , Cantonese , Shanghai dialect and English.

In 2007, Angelababy made a brief cameo in the movie Trivial Matters . She then received a number of supporting roles in various films and music videos . Her first leading role followed in 2011 on the side of Eddie Peng in the film Love You You . For this film she also sang a song on the soundtrack with JJ Lin . For her leading role (alongside Mark Chao ) in First Time from 2012, a remake of the Korean film … ing (2003), she was named "Most Awaiting Actress" at the 13th Chinese Film Media Awards .

Angelababy also played a leading role in Tsui Hark's film Detective Dee and the Curse of the Sea Monster (with Mark Chao as the title character) in 2013, for which she was named Most Popular Actress at the 21st Beijing College Student Film Festival . Participation in the successful TV show Keep Running increased her awareness again. Together with Michael Chen , she starred in the 2014 romance Love on the Cloud . That year, Angelababy was proclaimed " Weibo Queen" and was ranked twelfth on the Forbes China Celebrity 100 , with an estimated income of 41 million yuan .

Angelababy made her Hollywood debut in 2015 with a supporting role in Hitman: Agent 47 . She then appeared in the film Mojin: The Lost Legend , which is based on the book series Ghost Blows Out the Light and which became the most successful Chinese IMAX film to date in China . She won the 33rd Hundred Flowers Awards for her role in the Best Supporting Actress category, but was criticized for her mediocre and lackluster acting. Still in 2015, Angelababy made her television debut in the historic television series Love Yunge from the Desert .

In 2016 she played a supporting role in the Hollywood film Independence Day: Return . On the Forbes list 30 under 30 Asian celebrities , she was listed under Entertainment and sports. In 2017 Angelababy played alongside Wallace Chung in the history series General and I . The series was commercially successful, but again brought Angelababy criticism for her acting.

Personal

Angelababy had been in a relationship with actor Huang Xiaoming , twelve years her senior, for six years before it became public in 2014. They were married on May 27, 2015 in Qingdao . The wedding ceremony took place in Shanghai on October 8th of the year and is considered to be one of the most expensive weddings in China, with an estimated expenditure of US $ 31 million. In October 2016, Angelababy's pregnancy was announced. Their son was born on January 17, 2017 at the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital in Happy Valley .

2015 sued Angelababy a clinic in Ruili to a fine of $ 80,000, as these her a plastic surgery had rumored, but what they're a study in a Beijing could refute the hospital.

Angelababy invested in various companies, including a nail salon, a café (together with Tony Leung Ka-Fai ) and a lifestyle store. In 2015, she launched her own investment fund, AB Capital, and bought the Ymatou e-commerce website and the HeyJuice beverage brand . In 2016, Angelababy was the youngest person on the Hurun Philanthropy List . She and her husband had donated US $ 2.6 million to a job-seeking university graduate aid program.
