Opinions

Krautwaschl responded to various journalists' questions in an interview on April 19, 2015 . In life it is important to have hope . You can recognize good Christians by how they treat one another. The belief is not religious and not narrow ecclesiastical . Being a Christian must be lived the whole week. "Just try to live as if you believed, as if God exists."

According to Krautwaschl, there is only one argument the church can use against the ordination of women - tradition . And that would be an argument that only a Pope could revisit with a council .

He thinks it is “terrific how religious teachers feel about their wives and husbands.” The church should “present itself in a new form in many small spaces of experience, colorful, diverse, attractive, inviting, open.” On the question of communion for divorced remarried people , he said : "We are not the good Lord ... We could not say that you will not go to heaven because you are remarried and divorced, that is not possible."

Krautwaschl, who has taken in a Syrian refugee family, objects to the fact that when it comes to refugees and unemployment, "hardship [...] is played off against hardship", and describes the construction of the border fence in Spielfeld as a "simple answer", but nothing bring. He criticizes: “We don't know who we ourselves are, and we begin to build fences and walls around the supposed self.” Instead, he advocates “first of all [to] trust the other ”.

Trivia

When asked what earthly vices he was wrestling with, Krautwaschl replied: “With my passion for sweets , for James Bond films , computers and the mobile phone - crossword wordament - in which I still defeat the chaplain von Bruck online. I'm proud of that. ”He hopes to find someone who will move into a priest's flat with him on Grazer Bischofplatz .
