Hermann Schrader (born June 12, 1844 in Braunschweig ; † September 12, 1899 in Holzminden ) was mayor of Holzminden (1878–1899) and a member of the Braunschweig Landtag (1884–1889 and 1893–1895).

Life

Schrader was born in Braunschweig in 1844 as the son of the then regional economics conductor, later the regional economics commissioner Schrader in Holzminden. He attended the Holzmindener Gymnasium from 1854 until the final exam in 1862.

He then studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and later in Heidelberg . In Göttingen he joined the Holzminda association in the summer semester of 1864 . He passed the legal exams in 1866 and 1872.

On May 1, 1872 he was employed as an assessor at the ducal city court in Braunschweig, transferred to the ducal district court in Stadtoldendorf in the same capacity on January 1, 1873 and elected mayor of the city of Holzminden in May 1878, which post he was from June 1878 up to his death on September 12, 1899. During his tenure, he laid out the Holzminden city park.

1884–1889 and 1893–1895 he was a member of the Braunschweig State Assembly. He was also a member of the district committee and the district assembly for many years. After founding the Solling Association , he was its first chairman. His funeral took place on September 15, 1899 in Holzminden.
