Hermann Schuon

Gustav Hermann Schuon (born March 26, 1886 in Hall , † December 29, 1966 in Ludwigsburg ) was a German economic manager and for a long time the sole general director of the Bausparkasse Association of Friends of Wüstenrot .

Career

Schuon attended secondary school in Schwäbisch Hall and then studied law and political science at the University of Jena . After graduation, he worked there for several years as an assistant at the political science seminar and prepared his dissertation, which he presented in 1912. From 1912 to 1914 he was the syndic of the Alsace-Lorraine regional association of the German employers' association for the construction industry in Strasbourg . In 1914 he came to Metz, where he was alderman and deputy mayor, as well as chairman of the Lorraine municipal association. After Lorraine ceded to France, he was director of the Württemberg raw materials and contracting office in Stuttgart from 1920 to 1922 and director of the Württemberg raw materials company from 1922 to 1926.

On the recommendation of the Württemberg state president and later resistance fighter against the Nazi regime, Eugen Bolz , Schuon was appointed to the board of the Bausparkasse Gemeinschaft der Freunde Wüstenrot in Ludwigsburg in 1926 . He soon helped the company to great progress and reputation. Regardless of this, he was deposed for political reasons after the National Socialists came to power in 1933. In 1945 he was reinstated, now as the sole general director of the building society. He also took over the chairmanship of the board of the Association of Private Building Societies and was a member of the board of the German Association for Housing, Urban Development and Spatial Planning . He was also Vice President of the International Union of Building Societies and Savings and Loan Associations , a member of the board of the Deutsche Heimstättenwerk in Bielefeld and a member of the supervisory board of Hausbau Wüstenrot.
