Hermann Wegener (* unknown; † 1613 or later) was a German printer of the early modern period .

Life

Wegener was the son of the Hamburg, later Schleswig book printer Nicolaus Wegener and brother of the Schleswig book printer Arnold Wegener . There is evidence of prints by him in the period from 1599 to 1606 in Lübeck and from 1608 to 1613 in Hamburg .

Print production

Wegener printed in German, Latin, Danish and Swedish. This diversity of languages was not unusual for Lübeck printers of the time. In Lübeck he printed Philipp Kegel's Dulce refrigerium (two different editions, 1599; further edition 1602, further edition 1606), Euangelia och Epistler (pericopes in Swedish, 1603), Then swenska psalmboken (Swedish hymn book, 1603), Nicolaus Heldvaderus ' Allmanach oc Practica / paa det Aar / M. DC. IIII. (Danish Almanac, 1603) and Petrus Chunradus' Præclaræ et egregiae insvlae Allsiae, patriae dvlcissimæ, qvaliscvnqve χωρογραφία encomiastica (1605).

The works printed in Hamburg include the funeral sermon on Philipp Nicolai , his first print in 1608 in Hamburg, and in 1611 Samuel Meiger's mirror of matrimonial household , which he reprinted in 1613. Borchling - Claussen list four of his Low German prints in the Low German Bibliography .
