Hermann Wimmer

Hermann Wimmer (born July 18, 1936 in Neuötting ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending secondary school, Wimmer completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter from 1950 to 1954 and then worked as a machine fitter at Maschinenfabrik Esterer AG in Altötting until 1975 . He joined IG Metall , was chairman of the works council at Esterer AG from 1960 to 1983 and was a member of the company's supervisory board.

Political party

Wimmer has been a member of the SPD since 1955.

MP

Wimmer was a council member of the city of Altötting from 1966 to 1985 and was elected to the district council of the Altötting district in 1966 . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1976 to 1994. He ran in what was then the constituency of Altötting-Ebersberg-Mühldorf and was always drawn into parliament via the state list of the SPD in Bavaria .
