Hermann von Dassel

Hermann Otto Franz von Dassel (born July 28, 1860 in Neustadt / Harz , † February 21, 1936 in Hamburg ) was a Hamburg judge and member of parliament.

Life

He came from the von Dassel patrician family , his father was a temporary judge at the Syke district court . After attending school at the Johanneum Lüneburg , he studied law in Heidelberg , Berlin and Göttingen . In 1882 he became a member of the Corps Bremensia Göttingen . In 1884 he passed the trainee examination in Celle and in 1889 did the Asessorenexamen in Berlin .

Dassel was accepted into the Hamburg public service as a public prosecutor in 1890 . In 1892 he became a district judge, in 1899 a district judge and in 1906 he was appointed to the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court. From October 1, 1921, Dassel was Senate President of a Senate of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court. After Max Mittelstein's death on September 25, 1927, he headed the Higher Regional Court until Wilhelm Kiesselbach was appealed on July 1, 1928. Subsequently, the position of Vice President was created for him, an official title that he was allowed to use from 1929.

In addition to his actual judicial work, he was involved in various positions in the legal training and received an honorary doctorate from the University of Hamburg in November 1928 .

Dassel joined the German National People's Party in 1918 . For this he belonged to the Hamburg citizenship from 1924 , he was expelled from the party in February 1929 and was since then chairman of the "People's Conservative Association". On March 31, 1929, he resigned from his citizenship mandate.
