Hermann von Kamlah

Moritz Franz Hermann Kamlah , von Kamlah since 1896 (born September 3, 1840 in Vienenburg , † September 1, 1919 ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

Hermann was the son of the domain tenant Adolf Kamlah (1799-1865) in Vienenburg and his wife Wilhelmine Henriette, née Grumbrecht (* 1807).

Military career

Kamlah embarked on an officer career in the Prussian Army , during which he commanded the Metz Infantry Regiment No. 98 from June 16, 1891 to June 17, 1895 . After being promoted to major general, Kamlah was commander of the 35th Infantry Brigade in Flensburg until May 3, 1898 , when he retired as lieutenant general. On January 18, 1896, Kamlah was raised to the hereditary Prussian nobility in Berlin .

He married Felicitas von der Lancken (1852–1927) on October 31, 1871 in Stralsund . The couple had the following children:
