The Riedbach is a right and northern tributary of the Kinzig in Hesse . It arises from the confluence of the Mordgraben and Hermesbach north of Schlüchtern .

Spring streams
Murder pit
The Mordgraben rises at the motorway service station in the Mordtal southwest of Gomfritz . It flows south to Schlüchtern. At around 3.1 km, it is the shorter and less watery spring stream.
Hermesbach
The approximately 4 km long Hermesbach arises from the confluence of the Mätschbach and Kohlgrubenwasser . It flows to the south-east and unites with the Mordgraben to the Riedbach .

After the confluence of the source streams, the Riedbach runs south through the western inner city of Schlüchtern . There the Hagerwasser flows into it and the Riedbach flows into the Kinzig opposite the sports field .
