Hermut Löhr

Hermut Löhr (* 1963 ) is a German Protestant theologian . His brothers Gebhard and Winrich are also professors of Protestant theology.

Life

He completed his studies in Protestant theology and history in Bonn , Tübingen , Heidelberg and Strasbourg with a doctorate to become Dr. theol. 1993 at the University of Bonn . After habilitation New Testament in 2001 at the University of Bonn and the ordination of pastors of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland in 2003, he was Professor NT University of Jena (2003-2007), Professor NT University of Münster from 2007 to 2017 and professor NT Bonn University (since 2017).

His main areas of work are Hebrews, Philippians, early Christian and early Jewish prayer, the Apostolic Fathers (esp. 1 Clem, Herm, Ignatians), the emergence of Jewish, Christian morality in antiquity, the history of emerging Christianity and 1–3 Joh.

In 1996 he received the Hanns Lilje Prize .
