Winrich Lohr

Winrich Alfried Löhr (born July 1, 1961 ) is a German church and dogma historian with a focus on the Old Church . His brothers Gebhard and Hermut are also professors of Protestant theology.

Löhr graduated from high school in 1980 at the Aloisius College in Bonn-Bad Godesberg . He received his doctorate in 1986 and completed his habilitation in 1993. From 1996 to 2000 he worked at the University of Cambridge and then took up the professorship for church history at the University of Hamburg . Löhr has been researching and teaching at Heidelberg University since 2007 .

The focus of work is on the history of theology in ancient Christianity and politics and religion in antiquity as well as gnosis . Löhr is co-editor of the real dictionary for antiquity and Christianity as well as the yearbook for antiquity and Christianity .

Löhr has been married to Pastor Dorothee Löhr since 1988.
