Gebhard Löhr

Gebhard Löhr (* 1958 in Eitorf ) is a German Protestant theologian . His brothers Hermut and Winrich are also professors of Protestant theology.

Life

From 1977 to 1978 he studied at Wagner College (Religious Studies, American Literature, American History), from 1978 to 1979 at the University of Bonn (theology, philosophy and religious studies), from 1980 to 1981 at the Duke Divinity School (theology) and from 1982 to 1986 at the University of Göttingen (Theology, Philosophy, Religious Studies) (1986: Magister Artium in Philosophy / Diploma in Theology). After obtaining his doctorate in 1989 (Dr. phil., Philosophy) at the University of Göttingen, he was Academic Councilor for the New Testament there from 1991 to 1995 . After his habilitation in 1994 (general religious history) at the University of Göttingen, he was appointed adjunct professor in 1997. From 1995 to 1999 he was senior assistant (religious education, religious studies) at the University of Greifswald . From 1999 to 2001 he was a university lecturer at the University of Greifswald. From 2001 to 2005 he held visiting professorships and lectureships, including a. at the Universities of Göttingen, Erfurt , Innsbruck and Bayreuth . In 2004 he was Heynehaus Fellow ( visiting professor ) at the Institute for the History of Science at the University of Göttingen. After the parish vicariate (2006-2008 in the Bonnus parish , Osnabrück ), he passed the second theological examination in 2008 at the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland . After ordination in 2008, he was a Heynehaus Fellow at the Institute for the History of Science in Göttingen from 2008 to 2009.
