The Herndl alley located in the 10th Vienna district favorites . It was named in 1874 after Paul Herndl, the last local judge in Wieden , to whom the built-up areas outside the line wall had largely belonged, which were elevated to the new district of Favoriten in 1874.
Location and characteristics
The Herndlgasse extends on the northern slope of the Wienerberg from Gudrunstraße in the north to Reumannplatz in the south. It touches the Wielandplatz with the Wielandpark and crosses the Quellenstrasse . In Herndlgasse, which is a one-way street , bus line 14A runs towards Reumannplatz. The building with 26 house numbers consists of residential buildings.

No. 6: Baptist Church
In the courtyard of the post-war residential building there is a prayer and meeting room of the International Baptist Church of Vienna . This is a congregation of the Baptist Church whose services are mainly celebrated in English.
No. 9: Sgraffito Fischer von Erlach
At the corner of Erlachgasse 88 there is a large-format sgraffito signed with Langer , which reminds of the architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach and his construction of the Karlskirche in Vienna .
No. 16: Relief Paul Herndl
At number 16, an unsigned relief plaque shows the namesake of Herndlgasse, Paul Herndl, the last local judge of Wieden, as he is currently officiating at a court hearing. No exact dates of life are known of Herndl, who exercised his office around 1850.
No. 22: Mosaic
The house number 22 shows a two-story wall mosaic by an unknown artist.
No. 24: Evangelical Church of Grace
The church hall and the community center of the Evangelical Lutheran parish in Vienna-Favoriten are housed in a residential building, not recognizable from the outside (except for the inscription). The simple church interior of the Gnadenkirche was designed in 1966 by Rudolf Angelides , who built several Protestant churches in Vienna.

The house number 26 has a large-format relief colored mural depicting horses in a pasture.
