Herrenhausen is a district of the Lower Saxony municipality of Wiefelstede in the Ammerland district .
The place belonged to the municipality of Varel -Land in the district of Friesland until 1972 and was incorporated into Wiefelstede as part of the municipal territorial reform in Lower Saxony .
Geography and transport links
The 3 km northeast of Spohle located peasantry has 92 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2007). Wapeldorfer Straße (L 820) leads through the village to Autobahn 29 to the east .
history
The Herrenmoor was cultivated at the beginning of the 20th century . A path from Spohle to Bekhausen in the municipality of Rastede led through this moor as early as 1848 . After the First World War , the western section was converted into a road. On the new road from Spohle to Wapeldorf , the village of Liethermoor emerged from 1920 , which was renamed Herrenhausen in 1926. In 1933 there were 25 houses with 147 inhabitants.
