history

The Koog was created in the early 20s of the 20th century from a former moor area. Because the area was very humid, it took a few years to dry it out, but finally in 1935 the Koog was officially opened. Annual highlights are the Herrenkoogfest and the “Stäljmun” (Ironman North Friesland). In July 2010 the Herrenkoogers celebrated a special anniversary: the first settlement of their Kooges 75 years ago.
