Herringsen , dialect. Hiäringesen, is a district of Bad Sassendorf in the Soest district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

geography

Herringsen is located in the municipality of Bad Sassendorf, about 9 km southeast of the center of the district town of Soest . It consists of a small clustered village with the individual farmsteads Herringser Höfe and Ostheide . The place is on the southeastern edge of the municipality and borders on the municipalities of Anröchte and Möhnesee . Existing fruit tree avenues and woody plantings fit very well into the surrounding landscape.

history

The place is first mentioned in writing around 1280 as Herwardinchusen . Before the municipal reorganization , the place belonged to the Lohne office .

On July 1, 1969, Herringsen was incorporated into Bad Sassendorf.
