Enkesen im Klei is about ten kilometers east of Soest. The place is close to the A44 and the B1 . The place is a cluster of villages , the main line of business is agriculture. There is a shallow clay soil, limestone and sandstone layers begin under a thin layer of humus. A lot of rainfall is required to produce a good yield.

history

The goods Ekdrop ( Echtrop ), Sewardinchusen ( Seringhausen ) and Emmenchinchusen (Enkesen) were transferred from the property of Heinrich Hachen to the Oelinghausen monastery in this letter .

On July 1, 1969, Enkesen in Klei was incorporated into Bad Sassendorf.

coat of arms

Local coat of arms of Enkesen in Klei

Blazon : "In green next to a golden spike on a leafy stalk, a silver chalk shell (Inoceramus lamarcki)."

The coat of arms of Enkesen im Klei is the first coat of arms of a non-independent district in North Rhine-Westphalia that was registered and documented in the German HEROLD's coat of arms on January 3, 2012 under the registry 2 NW . It was donated by the Heimatverein Enkesen im Klei eV in order to use it as a symbol of the local-local identity outside of official acts. The design was done by the municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch , who carried out the certification.

The coat of arms reflects the addition of the name “in the Klei” with the chalk mussel (Inoceramus lamarcki) and the reference to agriculture as the main food branch of many generations with the ear of wheat provided, which, in contrast to the mussel, is not addressed as a specific type of grain. The green sign not only refers to the natural surroundings of the place, but also to the green sandstone quarried in the region, which was the building material for the Soest churches.
