Seringhausen is a district of Erwitte in the Soest district , North Rhine-Westphalia .

The village is located on the southern edge of the urban area of ​​Erwitte north of the A44 motorway . Bundesstrasse 1 runs north of the village . The center of the village is the half-timbered chapel of St. Maria Magdalena. Seringhausen is characterized by agriculture, there are no shops in town.

history

A Germanic sacrificial site located one kilometer south of the village center indicates that the Seringhausen area was settled before Christianity . It is popularly called the witches' hill .

On January 1, 1975, the previously independent municipality of Seringhausen became a district of the city of Erwitte in the course of the municipal reorganization in North Rhine-Westphalia.
