Aschaffenburger Höhenweg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Aschaffenburger Höhenweg , also Siebenschneidsteig , is a high alpine hiking trail in the Zillertal Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol and part of the Berliner Höhenweg .

"Seven cutting edges" have to be overcome over a length of 14 km . In particular, the Aschaffenburg section of the German Alpine Club looks after this section of Alpine Club Trail 519.

This high-alpine transition between the Karl-von-Edel-Hütte and Kasseler Hütte offers a magnificent view of the Zillertal main ridge , but is demanding and requires sure-footedness and alpine equipment. It is only accessible in good weather, as it partly leads over steep grass slopes and pathless boulder terrain and an emergency descent is not possible.

Directions

From the Edelhütte , the path leads through the Föllenbergkar over a steep and rope- secured passage to the Popbergnieder (2448 m) on the Poppbergschneide and further in a south-easterly direction on path tracks, first at the same height through the steep and grass-strewn sun wall, then descending into the rear Popbergkar .

This Blockkar is now crossed in a southerly direction, always following the red markings, to the Krummschnabelschneide . The striking Krummschnabelturm ( Krummschnabelscharte , 2478 m) is climbed approx. 10 m west of the tower with the help of rope insurance. The further path then goes over a steeply sloping band, also secured with wire ropes, into the Hasenkar .

It then goes through blocky terrain to the Sammerschartl (2392 m) on the Nofertensschneide ; the transition is mastered with easy climbing, secured with rope with step clamps. Descent over grass steps (wire rope) to Nofertenskar .

In the further course, this cirque is crossed on grass-interspersed blocks in an arch to the next cutting edge, the Hennstiegkamp , and climbed at the Nofertensmauer ( cattle wall , 2277 m).

From there it goes through the Maderegglkar , slightly downhill on a good slope to an emergency shelter (2150 m) in front of the Weisskarjöchl (2119 m), which can hardly be recognized as a yoke. The path leads at the same height through the Weisskar to the striking rock bar Samerkarjöchl (2200 m) to the south .

Staying at the same altitude, it now goes through the steep slopes of the Samerkarl and the Steinkarl to the Sonntagskarkanzel (2202 m). From here you have the first view of the Kasseler Hütte . Now we descend following the red markings until we come to the junction of path 502/515. From here it is a 30-minute ascent to the hut.

  • Ascent approx. 700 meters in altitude , descent: approx. 750 m ( coming from the Edelhütte )
  • Distance approx. 16 km, walking time: approx. 9 hours
