Herrjemineh

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Herrjemineh is a polka- french by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 464). The work was performed for the first time on December 26, 1895 in the concert hall of the Wiener Musikverein under the direction of Eduard Strauss .

Remarks

The polka was put together based on motifs from the operetta Waldmeister . The work thus joins a series of compositions (opus numbers 463 , 465 , 466 , 467 and 468 ) that take up all the themes from this operetta. Among other things, Strauss used parts from the second finale (No. 14 of the operetta score ) and the song Herrjemineh, herrjemineh, what one does not do anything out of love (No. 4) for this polka. The work was not played often in the following and has since been almost forgotten.

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 3 minutes and 34 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
