Herta Felden (* 1897 in Berlin ; † 1942 in Ravensbrück ) was a German actress .

Life

Herta Felden received her artistic training in the early phase of the First World War in her hometown of Berlin from Max Reinhardt , who also cast her in his productions from the beginning of her career. During her engagement at the Deutsches Theater (1915-1919) she was seen as a Meerkater or as the second nymph in Faust I (September 1915 and March 1916), as the fourth nun in Das Mirakel (April 1916), and as Leontine in Gerhart Hauptmann's Der Biberpelz (February 1916), as Frau Borkman's maid in Henrik Ibsen's John Gabriel Borkman (March 1917) and in Reinhardt 's Shakespeare performances as Dorcas in Das Wintermärchen (September 1915) and as Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream (March 1918).

Later, the artist only found sporadic permanent positions at Berlin theaters, including the Wallner Theater , the Thalia Theater and the Saltenburg Theaters .

The Jewish artist Herta Felden was deported to the Ravensbrück concentration camp during the Second World War , where she died under previously unknown circumstances.
