Hertrichshausen (Kitzingen district)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hertrichshausen (also Hertingeshusen ) is a desert in the north of the Kitzingen district . The location of the settlement is controversial, it is located in different places in the literature. It was probably abandoned in the second half of the 14th century. The reasons for this are unclear.

Geographical location

For the first time in literature, the desert appeared at Klarmann. The monograph The Steigerwald in the past from the beginning of the 20th century locates the settlement point “probably near Prichsenstadt or Gerolzhofen ”. In the more recent literature, however, it is assumed that Hertrichshausen was between Gräfenneuses , Obersambach and Wiesentheid . The village was probably on the Steigerwald step.

history

The place name of the settlement allows some conclusions to be drawn about the age of the place. The ending -hausen refers to the oldest Franconian settlement wave in the 8th century. At that time, the Merovingian colonizers displaced the originally resident population in the region. The settlement was first mentioned in the 14th century, when the village was already deserted.

On August 5, 1365, Count Friedrich III. zu Castell the "desert of Hertrichshausen" for itself. Götz von Wipfeld, however, claimed that the settlement was fiefdom of the burgraviate of Nuremberg . The dispute was heard before the Nuremberg district judge Purchart von Seckendorff, known as Höruf, until August 4, 1366. In the year 1376 Jörg von Wipfeld received some income from the corridor of the desert. Hertrichshausen was last mentioned in 1457, when the Provost zu Heidenfeld sued the Counts of Castel.
