Hertz da Conceição Dias (born October 20, 1970 in São José de Ribamar ) is a Brazilian educator , politician , activist and was a nominated vice-presidential candidate for the 2018 elections in Brazil for the Partido Socialista dos Trabalhadores Unificado (PSTU).
Life
Born in the state of Maranhão , the Afro-Brazilian works as a primary school teacher after studying history and completing a master's degree in pedagogy in the public sector. Hertz Dias has been active in the black movement for around 30 years and founded the Movimento Quilombo Urbano do Maranhão . He is also the coordinator of the Movimento Hip Hop Militante 'Quilombo Brasil' .
Politically, Dias belongs to the left-wing extremist spectrum. In 2010 he was unsuccessful as a candidate for vice governor of his home state. For the presidential election in Brazil in 2018 , he was nominated as a vice-presidential candidate for Vera Lúcia Salgado , who is also a member of the PSTU .
