The 2018 presidential election in Brazil took place on October 7th and 28th. The approximately 147.3 million Brazilians who are eligible to vote elected the President and Vice President. The runoff election on October 28th was won by Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) with 55.13 percent of the vote. Bolsonaro took office on January 1, 2019; his opponent was Fernando Haddad (PT). In the first round of elections on October 7, Bolsonaro received 46.03 percent of the valid votes, Haddad got 29.28 percent.

In the first round of elections on October 7, 2018, Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) received 49,277,010 or 46.03% of the valid votes, significantly more than the election forecasts predicted. On October 28, 2018, he stood in the runoff election against Fernando Haddad der (PT), who received 31,342,051 or 29.28% of the valid votes. Around 29% of the more than 147.3 million voters had distanced themselves from the election either by not appearing or by casting white ( Brancos ) or zero votes ( Nulos ) . There were a total of 107,050,637 valid votes.

The following candidates were nominated by their parties and their registration submitted to the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE):
Status: until the election in October, after Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the resolution of the Workers' Party (PT) of September 11, 2018, no longer ran and named Fernando Haddad as the new presidential candidate. On the same day, the Supreme Court (STF) dropped the Attorney General's charges against Jair Bolsonaro for racism, which allowed him to continue running.
