The Duchy of Bukowina ( Ukrainian Герцогство Буковина Herzohsstwo Bukowyna , Polish Księstwo Bukowiny , Russian Герцогство Буковина ) was the crown land of the Austrian House of Habsburg . In 1849 Bucovina was declared part of the Austrian Empire . From 1867 to 1918 it was crown land in the cisleithan (Austrian) part of Austria-Hungary .
