Het Springendal
Het Springendal is a nature reserve of around 355 hectares in the far east of the Dutch province of Overijssel in the Twente region . It is largely located in the municipality of Tubbergen east of the village of Vasse and north of the town of Ootmarsum on the border with the Dutch municipality of Dinkelland and Germany.
Het Springendal includes extensive forests, springs with small ponds, streams and waterfalls, small hills, heather and pasture land. Parts of Het Springendal are grazed by a flock of sheep to preserve the heather character .
It is best known for its beautiful landscape , which is considered worthy of protection . The area is popular with German and Dutch holidaymakers for bike rides and short hikes, as the core is closed to motorized vehicles. At various points in Het Springendal there are visitor parking spaces from which you can hike various routes on marked paths. The hiking routes are of different lengths and lead through different landscapes. There is also the possibility of accompanying the forester at dusk.
In the area of Het Springendal there are several barrows, probably from the Neolithic or Bronze Age, which are listed.
Geologically, it is a valley created by erosion on the edge of the ice .
Het Springendal formerly belonged to the Enscheder textile manufacturer Jannink and today by the Dutch State Forestry manages.
