Tubbergen ( listen ^{? / I} ) is a municipality in the Dutch province of Overijssel .

* Over 1000 inhabitants:

• Tubbergen (seat of the municipal administration); Geesteren (not to be confused with Geesteren near Borculo , Gelderland province ); Albergen, Harbrinkhoek, Langeveen, Reutum.

* Under 1000 inhabitants:

• Vasse, Mariaparochie ( grown up to Almelo ), Hezingen, Mander, Haarle and Fleringen.

Location and economy

Tubbergen is between Almelo and Twenterand in the west, Uelsen ( County of Bentheim ) in Germany in the north and Dinkelland in the east. The community has no industry to speak of. The inhabitants mostly live from agriculture or tourism. Geesteren has some famous stud farms that have produced some world class show jumping and dressage horses .

Attractions

• Every year a Concours Hippique of Show Jumping (CSI Twente) is held in Geesteren .
• In Vasse there are two beautiful old watermills (Bels and Frans) with a pancake restaurant.
• In Mander there are some burial mounds from prehistory.
• The north and east of the municipality border on the Counties of Bentheim and Dinkelland and offer a very beautiful, wooded and somewhat hilly landscape.

Tubbergen has been partnered with the municipality of Uelsen since 1981 and with the municipality of the same name in Lower Saxony since 2007 .
