chronology
5 (2004) hypocrite -

Heuchler is the sixth album by the German NDH band Megaherz and was released in 2008. The official release party took place on July 26th, 2008 in the Rockfabrik Nürnberg , where the admission was at around 9.45pm and, in addition to an autograph session, the albums were raffled off to fans.

The cover of the album shows the facade of a cinema or theater, where the band and album name are attached, in the sky there are dark clouds and ravens circling. In the shadow below, a poster with a clown's face can be seen on the wall , which is an allusion to the early days of the band, as this figure was seen on the first two albums.

content

Like the band's previous releases, the album is again about feelings or social criticism. On the official website it was stated that the song Mann von Welt is "a reckoning with all egomaniac who make money out of everything and go over corpses for profit".

style

Stylistically, Megaherz is by and large continuing the course it has taken, even if the sounds are a bit rougher and more metallic again; Megaherz now shows strong similarities with Dark Rock .

Reviews

The reviews of the eagerly awaited album were very different, the negative aspects were so criticized that the album offers nothing new apart from a few good songs and the band partially copies itself or copied from other performers, including alleged ones Bonds from In Extremo or Falco are called. It was also said that some songs are too reminiscent of Rammstein or the early works of Oomph! .

Wohnhaas' vocal and lyrical performance was also rated differently, laut.de called him a "piston eater who not only causes discomfort with his lyric poetry that takes getting used to", these were further referred to as "often to run away". Other critics, however, were of the opinion "that with Lex you could win a singer whose (...) singing fits very well with the (...) sounds of Megaherz".

For the first time there is also musical support from outside at Megaherz, so Wohnhaas is supported as a background singer in the song Everything only lies by the Bloodflowerz singer Kirstin.

Single release

The release of the album was preceded by a release of the song Mann von Welt , which appeared in two different versions. In addition to the track from the album, the normal version also contained the song Es brennt in the original vocal version by "Alexx" Wesselsky , which was to be found as a bonus on the fourth album Herzwerk II in the limited version. In addition to these two songs, the luxury edition of the single also contained bitch , Jordan and March 5th . To the disappointment, however, these songs came from albums that had already been released and were not recorded again with Wohnhaas' voice, which means that they were only interesting for people who had not had much contact with the band before and were offered a good cross-section.
