Hibbert Lectures
The Hibbert Lectures (English; Hibbert lectures ) are an annual series of "unsectarian lectures" on theological topics. They are sponsored by the Hibbert Trust , which was founded in 1847 by the Unitarian Robert Hibbert (1769-1849) with the aim of upholding "the unfettered exercise of private judgment in matters of religion" . They are held at irregular intervals in various British universities, often at Harris Manchester College (until 1996: Manchester College ) at the University of Oxford . In recent years the readings have been broadcast by the BBC . The following overview does not claim to be up-to-date or complete
