Hibria is a speed and power metal band from Porto Alegre , Brazil . The band is under contract with Remedy Records .

Band history

Hibria was formed between 1996 and 1997. After Abel Camargo and Marco Paninchi founded a new band called Malthusian together, the group around drummer Sávio Sordi was integrated into Malthusian with the exception of the bassist. This was followed by line-up changes, whereupon Diego Kasper joined the band, as did singer Iuri Sanson, whom they met at a concert in 1996. With this line-up, Hibria was founded.

Two months after Iuri Sanson joined in 1997, the first demo Metal Heart was released . In August 1999, Hibria released the sequel Against the Faceless . At the same time the band went on tour in Europe . Initially with only three confirmed gigs, the Against The Faceless Demo Tour played 29 concerts in Germany , Belgium and the Czech Republic , among others . According to an excerpt from an interview that can be found on the band's homepage and for the Rock It! Magazine, Hibria traveled by train and with a backpack during this tour.

2001 the single Steel Lord on Wheels was released in the local area of the band. In 2003 and 2004, Hibria composed and recorded the songs for the debut album Defying the Rules , which was mixed by Piet Sielck in Germany and released via Remedy Records .
