action

In the sleepy small town of Thorsby in the US state of Alabama , the dead rise from their graves and terrorize the area as walking bloodthirsty zombies . Despite the mortal danger, most of the residents react indifferently at first, believing in some kind of conspiracy, in aliens or intruders. After the first assaults on the living corpses are reported, but the local sheriff and his deputy are away, Barbara, the lonely secretary of the police station, turns to her ex-boyfriend and former police officer Chris for help, who also appears immediately.

Meanwhile, members of the “Thorsby Arms Club” around ex-soldier Keith manage to liquidate some of the zombies in the surrounding forests. Then you decide to drive to the "defenseless" city to take care of the creatures that are present. On their hunt, the group is quickly decimated by an ever increasing number of undead, until only Keith remains, who discovers that the zombies are afraid of the dark for almost unknown reasons. Soon the zombies take over violence in the streets and the mostly simple-minded residents become victims who occasionally kill each other.

Meanwhile, Chris and Barbara are looking for a roadworthy car to leave town with video store owner Chuck, who from now on remains alone in the police station and has to fight off various attacks. Looking for help, the couple turns to Barbara to her brother Keith, who at the end of the film tries to get her to get his two well-fortified daughters, Chris and Gail, who appears out of the blue, out of town. On the way he is bitten by his younger daughter. The trip ends abruptly for the group. The film does not know what exactly happens.

In the last shots you can hear a voice on the radio saying that Thorsby was surrounded and locked in on the instructions of a general. Further measures, the voice continued, are not expected due to the dangerous situation. At the same time, you see Chuck covered in blood, barricading himself in a house that is besieged by monsters.

Reviews

"An attempt at a zombie comedy that gets stuck in the experimental stage and offers media entertainment at best."
