Hidir Gurakar

Hidir Gürakar (born June 5, 1953 in Tunceli ) is a German-Turkish politician ( SPD ).

Life

Gürakar grew up in Turkey . In 1976 he came to Germany and began training as a social advisor at the Arbeiterwohlfahrt in Bonn. He attended the Dortmund Social Academy and in 1983 became head of the migration social service of the workers' welfare in Lörrach . From 2005 he worked as a freelance social worker and translator.

He was initially active at the local and district level in the SPD until he became a state board member of the SPD Baden-Württemberg in 2001 . From 1994 to 1999 and since 2004 he has been a member of the city council of Bad Säckingen . From 2009 to 2014 he was Deputy Mayor. On January 7, 2014, he became a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , replacing Alfred Winkler . In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016 , he received 12.3% of the votes in the Waldshut state electoral district and therefore no mandate.
