Alfred Winkler (born June 5, 1946 in Lörrach ) is a German politician. He was a member of the SPD in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , constituency 59 - Waldshut .

Life

Winkler attended elementary school in Herten near Rheinfelden from 1953 to 1961 , then the vocational school for metal professions in Rheinfelden . From 1962 to 1964 he completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter . From 1969 he studied at the technical school in the district town of Lörrach . After graduating in 1971, he worked, among other things, as a designer in mechanical engineering , salesman in mechanical and plant engineering, and then until 2002 as head of technical documentation . He is a technical employee of the company "Maschinenfabrik Chr. Haeusler GmbH" in Rheinfelden-Herten, which belongs to the German-Swiss Haeusler Holding . He has been on leave since assuming his mandate in the state parliament.

From 1986 (according to other information, 1990) to August 2002, he was Deputy Works Council Chairman . He is a member of IG Metall and the AWO . Winkler was chairman of the sports club SV Herten from 1978 to 1983, and from 1978 to 1988 member of FRI Rheinfelden. He was also an honorary judge at the Lörrach district court .

Winkler is widowed and has four children. He lives in Herten near Rheinfelden.

Winkler has been a member of the SPD since 1979. From 1985 to 1993 he was chairman of the Rheinfeldener SPD local association, from 1994 to 1999 chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the local council , from 1984 to 1992 member of the board of the SPD district association in Lörrach. From 1980 to February 2012 he was a local councilor , from November 1999 to February 2012 honorary mayor of the district of Herten, and since September 1989 he has been a member of the Rheinfelden local council. From 1994 to 2004 he was a member of the Lörrach district council .

From August 14, 2002 to January 6, 2014, Winkler was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg, initially as a replacement for the resigned MP Dieter Puchta . He was able to defend his mandate in the 2006 and 2011 state elections . In the state parliament, Winkler was a member of the "Rural Areas and Agriculture" committee and a deputy member of the "Science, Research and Art", "Economy", "Environment and Transport", "Finance" and "Europe" committees. Most recently he was a member of the “Rural Areas and Consumer Protection” committee and deputy chairman of the “Environment, Climate and Energy Sector” committee.

In the SPD parliamentary group , he was chairman of the working group "Rural Areas and Consumer Protection" as well as the agricultural policy spokesman for the areas of viticulture and genetic engineering . According to the parliamentary group's rules of procedure, he was a member of the extended board.
