Hieronymus Bilderbeke

Hieronymus Bilderbeke , also Bilderbeck (born April 14, 1600 in Lübeck ; † September 15, 1664 ibid) was councilor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

His grandfather Martin Bilderbeck († 1592) from Livonia was in command of a flotilla of Lübeck warships that came to the aid of the Danes against the Swedes in the Three Crowns War in 1564. Hieronymus Bilderbeke studied at the University of Rostock in 1617 . He was a merchant in Lübeck and a member of the merchant company and was elected to the Lübeck council in 1646. He was married to Elsabe Pavels, daughter of the Lübeck councilor Jürgen Pavels .

Lübeck councilor Hermann Bilderbeke was his nephew.
