High Water Recording Company
The High Water Recording Company is an American record label founded in 1979 by Dr. David Evans and Memphis State University and operates to this day.
Singles were initially released on the label, and since 1983 long-playing records made by Evans in and around Memphis of blues , gospel and jazz artists were released. The recordings made at the time have been re-released or re-released as CD since 1997 almost without exception on the Hightone label. The Hightone label was launched in 2008 by Shout! Factory bought out, some of the CDs with recordings produced by Evans are still in the program there.
